Jigra: The Delhi High Court today referred to arbitration a case filed by Médecins Sans Frontieres/MSF (Doctors Without Borders) against Dharma Productions over the use of MSF trademark in a scene of the Alia Bhatt starrer film Jigra. In fact, Medicines Sans Frontiers/MSF (Doctors without Borders) had filed a lawsuit against Dharma Productions, objecting to a scene in Bhatt’s film Jigra. The MSF trademark is used in scenes in the film depicting characters impersonating MSF members and illegally crossing international borders. Regarding this, MSF has said that unauthorized use of its trademark in this scene is insulting and tarnishes its trademark.

The bench of Justice Mini Pushkarna sent the matter for mediation and ordered both the parties to be present before the mediation center on December 24. Now the next hearing on this matter in the High Court will be on January 30, 2025.
