5G free service will be stopped
Actually, Jio and Airtel had provided the facility of free unlimited 5G service for the last several months to show the benefits of 5G service to their users and to get them used to it. Some selected users of these two companies were being given unlimited 5G service for free on recharging 4G, but now this will not happen.
According to the report of Economic Times, unlimited 5G service is going to end soon. According to this report, both Jio and Airtel companies can offer separate 5G connectivity plans. The price of 5G plans can be 5 to 10% more than 4G plans.
Globally, the fastest 5G service has been rolled out in India, which has reached 100 million i.e. more than 10 crore users in just one year. However, both Jio and Airtel have not yet charged their users for 5G service. Both these companies, along with their respective most popular 4G plans, gave the users the facility of unlimited 5G plans for free, which is still continuing.
How will 5G Prepaid Plans be?
In an ET report, an expert in the telecom industry has claimed that Jio and Airtel can launch their respective 5G cellular plans in the second half of 2024, i.e. between June 2024 and December 2024.
- Users may have to spend up to 10% more to buy 5G plans.
- In 5G plans, 30% more internet data can be given as compared to 4G plans.
- At present, in 4G plans, usually 1.5GB to 3GB per day data plan is given, but in 5G plans, around 2GB to 4GB per day data plan can be given.
Apart from this, it has also been said in the ET report that in 2024, along with launching 5G plans, companies are also going to increase the rates of 4G plans.
