Started in films as a body double
One day, while supplying jewellery, Jitendra met filmmaker V Shantaram. After this, Jitendra worked as the body double of the heroine in Shantaram’s film. Jitendra narrated an incident on Kapil Sharma’s show and said, ‘I was a junior artist during the shooting of the film ‘Sehra’. I had to flatter Shantaram ji, I was ready to do anything at that time. So one day, during the shooting in Bikaner, heroine Sandhya ji could not find a body double. Shantaram ji made me Sandhya ji’s body double and this is how I entered films.’
Gave 121 hit films, but never got the Best Actor award
Jitendra worked in many great films in his career. Jitendra gave around 121 hit films including ‘Parichay’, ‘Mawali’, ‘Tohfa’, ‘Himmatwala’ and ‘Karvan’. However, despite giving more than 100 hit films, Jitendra was never awarded the Best Actor award.
