After 11 years, the special CBI court on Wednesday sentenced all 10 convicts to life imprisonment in the murder case of CO Ziaul Haq of Kunda, Pratapgarh. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 19500-19500 on everyone. Half of the fine will be given to CO’s wife Parveen Azad. It is noteworthy that the CBI court had convicted 10 accused in this case on October 5.
Earlier on Wednesday, all the accused Fulchandra Yadav, Pawan Yadav, Manjeet Yadav, Ghanshyam Saroj, Ramlakhan Gautam, Chhote Lal Yadav, Ram Asare, Munna Patel, Shivram Pasi and Jagat Bahadur Patel alias Bulle Patel were presented in the court. Where CBI Special Judge Dhirendra Kumar sentenced everyone to life imprisonment.
There was an uproar over Pradhan’s murder
Pradhan Nanhe Yadav was murdered in a land dispute on 2 March 2013 in Balipur village of Kunda in Pratapgarh. After Pradhan’s murder, his supporters started creating ruckus and set fire to Kamta Pal’s house in Balipur village at 8.15 pm. Meanwhile, Kunda police station in-charge Sarvesh Mishra arrived with his team, but due to the crowd, he could not muster the courage to go towards Nanhe Yadav’s house. Pradhan Nanhe Yadav’s younger brother Suresh Yadav died after being shot in a clash with the CO who was explaining to the crowd. After this, CO Ziaul Haq was beaten and shot dead by the mob.
CO’s body was found in the field
When the search for the CO started at 11 pm, his body was found lying behind Pradhan’s house. Four FIRs were lodged regarding this triple murder case. The first report was lodged by police station in-charge Manoj Shukla against 10 people including Pradhan Nanhe Yadav’s brothers and son. At the same time, a report was also registered regarding the murder of Pradhan and Suresh. CO’s wife Parveen Azad had lodged the last FIR in this case. During the investigation by the police, the government had handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI. CBI registered the case on March 8, 2013 and started investigation.
Raja Bhaiya was accused
Many people including the then Food and Logistics Minister Raja Bhaiya and his close associate Gulshan Yadav were accused of this murder. There was a lot of discussion about this matter in political and administrative circles. After this incident Raja Bhaiya had to resign from the post of minister. However, later CBI gave clean chit to Raja Bhaiya and his close ones. CBI had also conducted narco test on the demand of Raja Bhaiya.
