Johnny Walker’s real name was Badruddin Jamaluddin, but Guru Dutt named him Johnny Walker after the famous whiskey brand. Johnny Walker was born on 11 November 1926 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. There were 15 people in his family. His father worked in a factory, which later closed down.
In search of earning, his father came to Mumbai with the family. To support his father, he worked as a bus conductor. He used to issue tickets in his unique style and entertain passengers by doing mimicry.
Guru Dutt gave Johnny Walker a chance in films
One day, the famous actor of that era, Balraj Sahni was travelling in the same bus. Johnny, as usual, was telling stories to the passengers in a charming manner. Johnny liked this style of his and arranged his meeting with Guru Dutt.
Rudat asked him to act as a drunkard. He was pleased to see Johnny’s acting and cast him in his film ‘Baazi’. Dev Anand and Geeta Bali were in special roles in this film. Fans liked him a lot in the film. After this Johnny never looked back.

Talking about his personal life, Johnny Walker married his co-actress Shakeela’s sister Noor Jahan. He has three daughters and three sons, one of whom is actor Nasir Khan.
