After Holi in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, amidst the crowd of tourists at Taj Mahal, Joint Secretary of Culture Ministry Gurmeet Singh Chawla arrived to take stock of the arrangements of Taj Mahal. Seeing the crowd, he gave instructions to install five ticket vending machines near the Taj Mahal, increase the number of ticket counters and make arrangements for seating of the tourists standing in the queue.

Joint Secretary Gurmeet Singh Chawla, who came on inspection along with DM Bhanuchandra Goswami, saw the ticket counter and facility center built at the east gate of ASI. Seeing the queues at the counters here, he gave instructions to increase the number of counters, install five vending machines, make arrangements for booking tickets through QR codes at various places.

He directed to make seating arrangements for the tourists, arrange shade for the people standing in the queue, put up signage around the Taj, increase drinking water points and do regular cleaning around the Taj Mahal. Additional Municipal Commissioner Surendra Prasad Yadav, ADM City Anoop Kumar, City Magistrate Ved Singh Chauhan, ASI Engineer Amarnath Gupta, Senior Conservation Assistant Prince Vajpayee, ACP Taj Security and other officials were present during the inspection.

Inspection here, health of three tourists deteriorated there

When the Joint Secretary was giving instructions to remove the disturbances due to crowd at the Taj Mahal, the health of three tourists at the Taj Mahal deteriorated. On Wednesday, the health of two female tourists including a child deteriorated due to being trapped in the heat and crowd. The female tourists felt nauseous and panicked.

On this he was admitted to the district hospital. Harsha P, 28, and Aaliya, 22, residents of Malappuram, Kerala, suffered vomiting and diarrhea due to the scorching sun and heat. Seven-year-old Ayaan from Delhi started having stomach pain. He was given medicine from the dispensary located at East Gate.
