JP Nadda On Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda on Saturday (February 3) termed the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as ‘Bharat Todo Nyay Yatra’. He questioned the silence of Congress leaders on the remarks of MP DK Suresh allegedly demanding a new country.
Nadda said, “Three days ago, Congress leader and MP DK Suresh had said that South India contributes more to GST but a large part of it is spent in North India, which is an injustice. He will demand a separate country in the times to come.” He questioned why Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi did not condemn his statement.
Addressing a public meeting in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala, Nadda said Kharge spoke for more than an hour in Parliament on Friday (February 2). During this, he did not give any reference to the statement of his party’s MP, who is also the brother of the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka (DK Shivakumar).
‘There are 4 castes in the country’
JP Nadda said, “The opposition is demanding caste-based enumeration whereas we believe that there are 4 castes in the country – poor, women, youth and farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Plans have been made for their upliftment under the leadership of…”
He said, “We are fortunate that after 500 years of struggle Ram Mandir was inaugurated and Article 370 (of the Constitution) has been abrogated.
‘India among 5 economically strong countries’
The BJP President said that today the army has freedom to take action against the enemy. India, which was an economically weak country, is now among the top 5 economically strong countries in the world. Attacking the Congress government for stalling development in Himachal Pradesh, National President Nadda said that notifications of a total of 620 government offices, 19 degree colleges and 286 schools have been withdrawn.
‘Centre gave Rs 1,782 crore to Himachal at the time of disaster’
JP Nadda said that ‘Him Care Card’ is not being honored because Rs 200 crore is still to be given to the hospitals by the state government. Taking a dig at Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for saying that there was no help from the Centre, Nadda said that the Prime Minister had given Rs 1,782 crore to Himachal Pradesh during the rain-related disaster between July to December last year. Apart from this, permission has also been given to build 11,000 additional houses.
