Jungle Cruise Review: When will films like ‘Jungle Cruise’ be made in Hindi?

Walt Disney’s creativity needed no proof. That’s why even after years of his passing, if his production company Disney Studios makes a film, then it is certain to expect that the overdose of entertainment will be found in the film. Recently released on Disney + Hotstar, ‘Jungle Cruise’ is one such great adventure fantasy film, which should be watched with the whole family and enjoy the action better than one. Made at a cost of about 200 million dollars i.e. 15 billion rupees, in this film, you will enjoy a journey that will make you laugh, feel the thrill and most importantly, will not bore you for a moment.

Helped by a strange map and a pendant, Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) and her brother McGregor Houghton (Jack Whitehall) meet Frank Wolf (Dwayne Johnson) who is searching for a medicine to stay alive with his wrecked boat and his Jaguar helps them find the ‘Tree of Life’ along with Proxima. Frank keeps hitting dialogue unnecessarily and keeps having fun with his antics the whole time. Prince Joachim of the German royal family is also lying behind the Tree of Life so that he can make the German army immortal and spread the rule of Germany all over the world. There is a new adventure step by step in the whole film. Each character has its own specialty.

Lily wants to free the whole world from diseases with the help of the Tree of Life, so her brother goes along with her only because he is ‘gay’ and only Lily supports her in the whole family. In an old accident, Frank gets the boon of immortality because of the Tree of Life and he is looking for the Tree of Life to get rid of this boon. The immortal Aguirre is also after Frank because he is cursed by the guardians of the Tree of Life and his body is made of snakes. The film is the story of finding this Tree of Life. At the end of a long story, only one flower of the Tree of Life falls into Lily’s hands. Lily uses it to undo Frank’s immortality spell. All bad people get punished for their deeds.

The comedy timing of Dwayne Johnson is liked by the general audience because he is a strong person and seeing his body it is easy to imagine him getting angry but when he does more than one nonsense, then one can only laugh. Emily Blunt is beautiful, talented and her character is the best in the entire film. A film was made in 1951 on CM Forester’s novel “The African Queen” in 1935. The hero was Humphrey Bogart (he received his only Oscar for this film) and the heroine was Katharine Hepburn. The character of Emily Blunt is similar to the character of Catherine. By the way, there is an entertainment zone named “Jungle Cruise” in Walt Disney’s Entertainment Park Disneyland, which is the basic premise of the story of this film.

The idea of making a film on Jungle Cruise was going on for almost 17 years. Sometimes the production of this film kept getting postponed because of the cast, sometimes the funds, sometimes the story could not be completed. Although the film has been liked by the audience, but the critics have different opinions. Despite all this, Disney is preparing to make a sequel to this film. Dwayne and Emily will also be seen in this sequel. In this film, with the help of computer graphics and motion capture technology, along with adventure, many parts of animals have been kept, which children will like very much. Jesse Plemons has played the role of Prince Joaquim very well. Jesse has been seen on the big screen for some time now. People know him because of the world famous web series “Breaking Bad”. Similarly, the fun gets doubled because of a talented actor like Paul Giamatti in the role of Frank’s rival in the film. Paul has become a villain in many films but his role in Jungle Cruise is funny. The role of Emily’s brother is played by Jack Whitehall. Disney movies are made from the point of view of the family audience. This is the second time that a major character in a Disney film is “gay”, although the film does not make fun of it or contain any uncomfortable scenes.

Director Jaume Collet Serra has made a completely different genre film this time. Before this he has made horror films like House of Wax, Orphan or The Shallows or action films like Nonstop and Run All Night. By making a fantasy adventure film like Jungle Cruise, he has given a successful introduction of his multidimensionality. Probably he will direct its sequel as well. There is a whole army in this film who have worked on such huge sets and shooting locations. Art directors such as David Lazon and team, along with production designer Jean-Vincent Pujos, or set decorator Larry Dias, have worked hard to recreate each scene according to the original theme. Two boats of 39 feet length were made. Costume designer Paco Delgado drew inspiration for Emily Blunt’s outfit from Amelia Earhart, the world’s first female pilot. For makeup, John Harlow had designed about 65 types of tattoos to suit the tribals of the Amazon jungle. Its production went on for almost 2 years and like other Disney movies, money was poured on it like water.

The film is funny. Look Will have fun We yearn to see such films in India, leave alone making them.
