Scrap mafia Ravi Kana and associate Kajal Jha, who had a reward of Rs 50,000 each, arrested in Thailand, were sent to jail till May 6. On Friday, Thailand Police returned to Delhi Airport after handing over both the accused to Greno Police. On Saturday, the Commissionerate Police presented both of them in the district court. From where both were sent to judicial custody. Now the Commissionerate Police has started preparations to take both the accused on remand.
According to ADGC Amit Kumar Sharma, 20 cases are registered in different police stations against Ravi Nagar alias Ravi Kana, resident of Dadupur village of Dankaur. Two cases including Gangster Act are registered against Kajal Jha, resident of Friends Colony, Delhi. Ravi Kana was arrested in Thailand. There, one lakh Thailand currency, five mobile phones and more than 20 mobile SIMs were seized from his possession.
Ravi’s clue was found from the arrest of his wife.
On February 16, Ravi Kana’s wife Madhu Nagar was arrested from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. She was also coming to Delhi from Thailand. It was from Madhu that the police came to know that Ravi and Kajal were hiding in Bangkok. Ravi, Madhu and Kajal lived in the same flat in Thailand. All three had gone there on tourist visa. After receiving this information, the police was making efforts to bring both the accused to India.
Reached Thailand via Nepal
Ravi, wanted in gangrape and Gangster Act, had reached Thailand via Nepal in December 2023 along with associate Kajal. Was there since then till now. Police issued look out circular notice and red corner notice. For this, police coordinated with CBI, Interpol and other agencies. Due to this, the Thai police deported both the accused to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on 26 April. From here, Knowledge Park police station and SWAT team arrested him.
