Trade analyst Ramesh Bala believes that Kalki, “His (Prabhas) star power will ensure that the film opens to packed theatres in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). Outside this, his stardom is tremendous even in centers like Bangalore. The film will have a good opening there too.”
He further added, “If you look at the biggest South artists, pan India hit films like Bahubali, RRR, KGF 2 have collected Rs 300-500 crore with their Hindi versions. Kalki 2898 AD will need that. It has the capacity given the big roles of Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan.”

Trade expert Atul Mohan says, “It is a big film with a big star cast and the VFX looks great. The buzz is increasing but awareness about it needs to be increased more in the Hindi belt. Maybe it will be made with other trailers and songs. So, it has potential but its real performance will be known only after release. Kalki 2898 AD has the advantage that there is no negativity about it like Adipurush or Radhe Shyam film. People have not rejected it. This can work for it.”
