Mohit Tiwari (25), a resident of Sundar Nagar Sagarpuri in Sen Paschim Para in Kanpur, hanged himself out of fear of punishment. A case of molestation of a minor was registered against him, which is pending in the court. Mohit’s cousin Pradeep said that his father Vijay Tiwari and mother Maya have died. Mohit lived with his younger brother Rohit.
Six years ago, a minor girl living in the police station area filed a molestation case against five accused including Mohit. He was jailed for about four years in this case. He was released on bail about a year ago. As the case was on trial at this time, he was under mental stress for several days. He was afraid of getting punished in the case. Out of this fear, Mohit committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope in his room on Wednesday night. Police station in-charge Rakesh Kumar said that it is being said that he took his life due to fear of punishment as the case was on trial.
A year ago the accused relative had committed suicide
Cousin Pradeep said that one of his relatives Sundaram was also an accused in the case filed against Mohit. A year ago, Sundaram also committed suicide by hanging himself. The other accused is in jail.
