Rs 3.86 crore belonging to 554 applicants for 150 flats in KDA’s NRI Township is stuck for two and a quarter years. Despite receiving applications, KDA has not been able to conduct their lottery till now. Now KDA has made preparations for the allotment of these flats. Due to this, KDA had given time till Friday to the applicants whose documents were incomplete. On Friday, more than 25 applicants reached KDA to correct the deficiencies in the documents.
According to the township policy, the allotment of 40 EWS category and 110 LIG flats in NRI Township located on Mainavati Marg is to be done through lottery. For this, KDA had invited applications from 22 December 2022 to 31 January 2023. The registration amount for EWS flats is Rs 39 thousand and for LIG flats it is Rs 84 thousand. 554 people dreaming of a home applied after purchasing a registration book worth Rs 525. These include 244 applications for EWS flats and 310 applications for LIG flats. Somehow he deposited the registration amount in the bank, but since then neither the lottery nor his dream of owning a house has been fulfilled.
Applicants told that they have been making rounds of KDA since submitting the form. Leave aside the allotment of flats, everyone from officers to Babu is not telling when the lottery will be held. Even the applications are not being answered. On the other hand, KDA examined these applications. Of these, deficiencies were found in 244 of the applications for EWS flats and 198 of the applications for LIG. In some, income certificate was not attached and in some, caste, disability certificate or income was not as per the prescribed standards. KDA asked these identified applicants to complete the documents last month. The last date for completing these was 8th November.
Lottery was not being conducted in NRI City due to pending map issue. The wrongly approved map has also been canceled there. After this, when NOC was received for allotting these flats of EWS and LIG category, last month the applicants were given a chance to complete the incomplete application forms. 8th November, the last date for completing its documents was also completed. The applications will be scrutinized soon and after the end of the election code of conduct, allotment will be done through lottery this month itself. Many applicants applied for refund of registration fees
Seeing that the dream of LIG and EWS flats in NRI City is not being fulfilled, many applicants have written letters to KDA demanding return of the registration money deposited. Some have even requested to pay interest for this period.
