Kanpur News: In protest against the murder of a doctor in Kolkata, the striking doctors took to the streets. Junior doctors took out a rally. The channel of Hallet OPD was shut down.

Junior doctors came out on the streets on the sixth day of the strike against the inhumanity and murder of a doctor in Kolkata and distributed leaflets among the people and sought their support. Doctors closed the OPD of Hallett, JK Cancer and other hospitals. Due to the strike, fewer patients came to the hospitals. Those who came also returned without getting themselves examined. However, emergency services continued. Junior doctors sat outside the OPD channel in Hallett. Principal Dr. Sanjay Kala and Vice Principal Dr. Richa Giri saw the patients.

The patient prescription counter was shut down in the Hallet OPD. Along with this, the channel was shut down. The patients who could go through the path next to the pathology were seen after getting a handmade prescription. Many patients returned after seeing the prescription counter closed. Principal Dr. Sanjay Kala said that he saw 50 patients in the OPD. The patient prescriptions were made by himself. The junior doctors demonstrated on the road outside the medical college gate. After this, they formed a procession and went to JK Cancer and Cardiology.

The cancer patients who came to get their cancer patients examined returned back. Cancer Institute Director Dr SN Prasad said that 10 patients were seen in the emergency of the hospital and one patient was admitted. Junior doctors burnt the effigy of the killers of the Kolkata doctor in the Cancer Institute premises. During this the doctors kept raising slogans like ‘We want justice’, ‘Hang the killers’, ‘It is not a hobby but a compulsion-this strike is necessary’ etc. The relatives who came to get their cancer patients examined in the OPD returned disappointed. The attendants said that the doctors did not even look at the test reports. The relatives kept lying with the patients in the hospital premises.
