In a village of Shivrajpur police station area, late on Friday night, a young man raped and murdered a girl student by pressing her face with a pillow. His body was found lying inside the house in a semi-nude state. On the information of neighbors, the police reached the spot along with the forensic team, investigated and collected evidence. Additional CP Harish Chander also reached. The team has found huge quantity of objectionable items from the spot. After investigation, the police sent the body for postmortem. Also, on the basis of father’s complaint, a case was registered against four people. After coming to know from the niece about the youth coming home at night, the accused youth was also arrested late in the evening. At present he is being interrogated.

Apart from his wife, the family of the mason, resident of a village in Shivrajpur police station area, has two married sons and four daughters. In this, all three daughters are married. At the same time, the 17-year-old fourth daughter was a class 12 student in a private college. The student’s father told that on Friday evening, leaving his daughter alone at home, at around 4 o’clock he went with his wife to attend a wedding ceremony at a relative’s house in Asalatganj, Kanpur Dehat. When she was alone, the student had brought home the four-year-old daughter of her elder brother who lives in another house in the neighborhood late in the evening.
When the mother of the innocent child came to pick her up on Saturday morning, the crying daughter said that her aunt was not waking up. When the sister-in-law of the deceased reached the room, the half-naked body of the student was lying on the cot in the room. On receiving information from the village head, a heavy police force including ACP and police station in-charge reached the spot and started investigation. According to sources, initial investigation has confirmed that pillow was used for suffocation. Some evidence found at the spot points towards rape.
