Kanpur News: A teacher returning home on foot after having dinner with her husband and two children was robbed by scooter riders just a few steps away from the police post. After registering the report of robbery, Collectorganj police started searching for the miscreants.

A few steps away from Sirki Mohal outpost of Collectorganj police station, fearless miscreants snatched the chain from a private school teacher. The police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and started searching for the scooter-riding robbers after scanning the CCTV cameras. Mahendra Sharma, resident of Hoolaganj, works in private. His wife Vineeta teaches in a private school.

Mahendra told that on Saturday night at around 10 pm, he had gone to a hotel in Ghantaghar for dinner with his wife and two children. All four were returning home on foot at around 11 pm. When they had reached near Sirki Mohal police post, two miscreants who came from behind on a scooter pounced on them, snatched the chain around Vineeta’s neck and ran away. Mahendra tried to chase on foot but the miscreants fled.

On receiving information about the incident on UP 112, ADCP Central, ACP Collectorganj and police station in-charge reached the spot with their team. Took information about the incident from the victim’s family. ADCP said that on the complaint of Mahendra Sharma, a report has been registered against unknown persons under the section of robbery and the miscreants are being searched. CCTV cameras installed around the incident site are being monitored.
