Kargil Vijay Diwas: Pakistan got angry when PM Modi scolded Pakistan on Kargil Vijay Diwas, said this

Pakistan on Friday rejected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks during an event in Drass in Ladakh as “rhetoric” and said it cannot divert international attention from India’s efforts to suppress the Kashmiri people.

India on Friday celebrated the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas and remembered the heroic saga of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a strong message to Pakistan, saying that it is trying to remain relevant by using terrorism and proxy war but the enemy’s nefarious designs will not be allowed to succeed.

Pakistan’s foreign ministry said in a statement, ‘‘The rhetoric of Indian leaders cannot divert international attention from India’s heavy-handed approach to suppress the Kashmiri people’s struggle for their fundamental rights and freedom,’

Pakistan’s foreign office said in a statement, "”Issue and chauvinism undermine regional peace and are completely contrary to the resolution of long-standing disputes between Pakistan and India, particularly the core dispute over Jammu and Kashmir.”

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 July to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 war. The Indian Army had launched a fierce counter-offensive to drive away Pakistani troops who had occupied important mountain peaks of Kargil.

India has always said that it desires normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan. It also emphasises that it is the responsibility of Pakistan to create an environment free from terror and hostility for good relations between the two countries. India has also made it clear every time that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been and will always remain integral and inseparable parts of India. On the other hand, Pakistan is not desisting from its antics, it has been constantly trying to spread unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.
