Covid-19 Cases in Karnataka: After the South Indian state of Kerala, now the number of corona infected patients is increasing rapidly in Karnataka. Besides, the deaths of Covid infected patients have further increased the government’s concern. During the last 24 hours, on Tuesday (26 December), 74 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the state and two deaths have been recorded. The age of both the deceased was 51 years. Due to this, the number of active cases has increased to 464 and the number of deaths has increased to 9.

According to news agency PTI, the state government has come into full action mode due to the rapid increase in the number of corona infected patients and deaths. Karnataka government corona virus In view of the spread of infection due to the new variant JN.1 (Corona JN.1 variant), people have been asked to wear masks and follow appropriate behavior related to Covid-19. The cabinet sub-committee formed regarding Covid-19 has decided to adopt several measures.

30,000 doses of Corbevax vaccine sought from the center

All these measures mainly include wearing masks, not sending children with symptoms to school, following appropriate behavior related to Covid-19 like social distancing, home isolation for 7 days and discharging infected patients, etc. It has also been decided to administer ‘precautionary vaccination’ to the elderly and people suffering from multiple diseases and for this purpose, to obtain 30,000 doses of Corbevax vaccine from the Centre. Detailed guidelines in this regard will soon be issued by the government.

6,403 people got corona test done in the state

According to the health bulletin issued by the Health Department, 44 patients have been discharged in the last 24 hours and a total of 6,403 tests have been conducted, including 4,680 RT-PCR and 1,723 rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate is 1.15 percent while the case fatality rate is 2.70 percent.

According to the department, the maximum number of tests were conducted in Bengaluru. Here 2,104 people got themselves tested, out of which 57 were found corona positive. This is highest compared to other districts.

Both the deceased were suffering from serious respiratory disease

Of the two patients who have died in the state, one was admitted to Dakshina Kannada on December 22 with symptoms of fever, cough and breathlessness. He had severe acute respiratory infection and died on 23 December. He was not vaccinated.

The bulletin said that the second patient was admitted to Mysore on December 20 with symptoms of cough and breathlessness and he also died on December 25. He also had a severe respiratory infection, but was vaccinated.

423 people undergoing treatment in home isolation

According to the health bulletin, out of the total 464 active cases, 423 people are in home isolation, while the remaining 41 patients are undergoing treatment in the hospital. It said that out of the people admitted to the hospital, 16 have been admitted to the ICU and 25 to the general ward.
