Now Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav went to Sawai Madhopur of Kota division on Tuesday to test the upgraded version 4.0 of this KAVACH system. There he interacted with the loco pilots and also explained the features of the KAVACH system. Well, let us now tell you whether KAVACH 4.0 also detects the gas cylinders kept on the railway track.

First understand what is Kavach system

The Kavach system is a type of automatic train protection system designed to reduce the possibility of collision between trains. The purpose of the Kavach system is to ensure that trains can run safely on their designated routes and avoid any emergency accidents. Let us now know how it works.

Features of sensors and detection

The Kavach system has several types of sensors that monitor the situation around the track. These sensors constantly scan the things around the train. If another train, obstacle, or any other danger comes in front, this system immediately identifies it.

Understand from Automated Braking System

When the Kavach system detects a danger, it warns the loco pilot. If the loco pilot does not respond within the stipulated time, the system automatically activates the brakes to stop the train. This reduces the chances of a collision to a great extent.

Includes real-time data

The Kavach system has a robust communication network, which transfers real-time data between the train and the control room. The Kavach system instantly transfers the train’s position, speed and other important information to the control room, so that the control room knows the current status of the trains at all times.

Can the location of the cylinder also be known?

A cylinder was found on the railway track in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. As soon as the loco pilot saw the cylinder, he immediately stopped the train. If the loco pilot had not applied the brakes on time, the train could have crashed. Now the question arises whether the Kavach system could have detected the gas kept on the track. Actually, a special feature of the Kavach system is sensors and detection. Through this, Kavach scans the situation around it and sends its information to the control room. However, this system works on big things.

For example, it works when two trains come face to face on the same track. Apart from this, if the track is broken or there is a big object on the track, the Kavach system gives information about it. But whether Kavach gives information about the gas cylinder being on a track or not, at present no official information has been given by the railways on this.
