Kerala Bomb Blast Incident: A case of death of one person and injury to another has been reported in a crude bomb explosion on Friday (April 5, 2024) morning in Mulliyathode in Kannur district of Kerala. The victim of the bomb blast was identified as Sherin (31), a Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) worker. The person injured in the blast is Vinesh (24), who is also a CPI-M worker.
According to the report of The Hindu, this crude bomb explosion which took place in Mulliyathod area under Panoor police station is believed to have happened at the time when the process of making it was going on. The deceased Sherin is a native of Kavalikal of Panur. Both deceased Sherin and injured Dinesh were active members of CPI (M).
The young man injured in the blast is undergoing treatment on ventilator.
Vinesh, son of the local committee leader, has been seriously injured in this bomb blast and is on ventilator. Sources say that both the victims have been initially transferred to a private hospital in Kozhikode. After the incident, he was first admitted to hospitals in Kannur. Later he was taken to a private hospital.
According to the report, the explosion took place near Mulliyathod Wood Mill at around 1 am last night, after which local people reached the spot. After this, with the help of local people, the victims were taken to a nearby hospital.
Police are searching for evidence from the spot
Reports show that many more people may be injured in this bomb blast incident. After receiving information about the incident, the local police administration has started investigating the matter and has also inspected the incident site to collect evidence.
