According to data from the website of the Union Health Ministry, till 8 am on Tuesday, a total of 142 cases of Covid were recorded across the country. Of these, 115 were recorded from Kerala. There has been no death due to corona in Kerala in the last 24 hours.

According to news agency PTI, Kerala Health and Family Welfare Minister Veena George said in a statement that there is no need to worry about the increasing cases of Corona. corona virus The state is fully prepared to deal with it. He said that there was an increase in Covid-19 cases in November also. After that ministerial level meetings were held. During this period, many precautionary steps have been taken to deal with this and a complete roadmap was prepared in this regard.

‘Covid testing numbers have increased’

Giving information about the measures to deal with Corona, the Minister said that instructions were given to send samples of all those people who have shown symptoms of Corona for testing and genomic sequencing. Apart from this, the number of Covid testing has been increased and all the safety measures have been tightened. As far as medicines are concerned, complete stock was also ensured for them.

Minister held a meeting to take stock of Covid treatment arrangements

The statement said that an online mock drill was conducted between December 13 and 16 in which 1,192 government and private hospitals were included. With this, work was done to ensure availability of isolation wards, oxygen beds, ICU and ventilators. A meeting was held under the leadership of the minister to assess the Covid situation in the state and the preparedness of the medical systems.

‘Treat patients in the district without referring them to medical colleges’

In the meeting, it was decided to provide special facilities for Covid patients, ensure availability of isolation wards, rooms, oxygen beds, ICU beds and ventilators in hospitals and to treat those infected people who are not serious, in the district itself without referring them to medical colleges. Instructions were given. Apart from this, it was also directed that if any patient tests positive for corona, his treatment should be ensured in the treating hospital only. A total of 1,957 oxygen beds, 2,454 ICU beds and 937 ventilator ICU beds are available in the state. The minister says that the sub-variant JN.1 omicron variant of Corona was confirmed in only one sample and that person had recovered.

111 cases were reported on Monday

Let us tell you, 111 cases of Corona were registered in Kerala on Monday (18 December). After this their number increased to 1,634. But now after the increase in the figures on Tuesday, the total number of active cases has reached 1,749.
