The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. The Congress suffered the most. The Congress came straight down to 17 from 77 seats. Means Congress had to bear the loss of 60 seats. At the same time, this time only five candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party, which claimed to form the government, could win the elections. The SP candidate won one seat, while the remaining three seats were won by independent candidates.

BJP’s Devabhai Malam defeated Hirabhai Arjanbhai Jotwa of INC by 4,208 votes in Keshod assembly seat in Junagadh district. BJP candidate got 55,802 votes while Congress got 51,594 votes here. Devabhai Malam has won from here for the second consecutive time on a BJP ticket. You are number three. Its candidate Ramjibhai Babubhai got 24,497 votes, which was 15.84 percent of the total votes. Means, your bail has been forfeited in Keshod. Apart from AAP, the deposits of three candidates were also forfeited. 1,719 voters of Keshod also pressed the note button.

BJP got victory in 2017

The BJP had won the Keshod seat in the 2017 assembly elections. In this election, Devabhai Malam of BJP defeated Jayesh Kumar Ladani of Congress by 10,000 votes from this seat. A total of 12 candidates were in the fray here. Apart from these two, the deposits of the other ten candidates were forfeited.

BJP won here for the seventh time

The BJP has so far won seven elections on the Keshod seat. The party won this seat for the first time in the 1995 elections. Whereas, the Congress had won this seat for the last time in 1985. Janata Dal had won here in 1990. Whereas, in 1995 this Keshod seat is occupied by the BJP. In the total 14 elections held so far in Keshod seat, the BJP has won seven times, the Congress candidate has won five times. The Janata Dal and the Swatantra Party have won once each from here.
