Yes, we are talking about ‘Khad Manas’ which was prepared during the princely times and even today the tourists coming to Udaipur like its taste.

This special traditional Khad meat dish is prepared in Kunwar Kaleva restaurant located in Shobhagpura Circle of Udaipur city. It takes about 24 hours to make it and it is cooked underground for 9 hours. Actually, Parvat Singh Ranawat of Udaipur city told that the kings of Mewar used to prepare this special dish after hunting during war travels. This is a very old dish which his ancestors have been making and he has started making it in his restaurant also.

It is very tasty to eat
Parvat Singh says that tourists coming to Udaipur especially like this dish. Because the way of making it is very different. It requires time and patience to make it which further enhances its taste. It is so delicious that eaters do not forget its taste.

This is how this Khad meat is prepared
Parvat Singh Rathore told that for Khad meat, mainly bone pieces of mutton are taken. After this, it is marinated with basic spices and hot mustard oil for about 12 hours. After this, a pit is dug inside the ground and fire is set in it and that is when coal is made. After this, this marinated meat is wrapped in silver foil along with banana leaves and then again wrapped in a jute sack and left to cook underground for about 9 hours. After this it is served hot with silver file and banana leaves. If we talk about its price, its price is Rs 1800 per kg.
