Kiran Rao On Divorce: Aamir Khan and his second wife Kiran Rao separated three years ago. The couple surprised fans by telling them about their separation. Aamir and Kiran were in the news a lot about their divorce. However, the couple is still seen together. Both have also worked together. But Kiran believes that she is very happy after the divorce. Kiran talked about her divorce in an interview. Also told how both Aamir and his family supported her for the divorce. Aamir and Kiran announced their divorce in July 2021.
Kiran said in an interview to Faye D’Souza- ‘I think relationships need to be redefined from time to time because we grow up and change as human beings. We need different things and I thought this divorce would make me happy and honestly, it has made me very happy.’
I don’t feel alone at all
Kiran further said- ‘Before Aamir, I was single for a long time. I loved my independence. I was alone but now I have freedom so I can’t be alone. I think most people are worried that when they get divorced they will be alone. I don’t feel lonely at all. I am supported by both families, mine and Aamir’s. So, really, it has been only good things. It has been a very happy divorce.’
It was not easy for Kiran and Aamir to end their 15-year marriage. Kiran told that it took some time for her and Aamir to end this relationship emotionally and mentally. She said- ‘We needed to be assured that we are not going anywhere, we are with each other for a long time. It’s just that we do not need to get married.’
