Timely treatment is very important
Marburg virus disease is usually diagnosed through tests such as ELISA or RT-PCR. When the disease is confirmed. So treatment should be started immediately with rehydration therapy and symptomatic management. There are no specific antiviral drugs currently available to treat MVD. Some preventive measures can help protect individuals from contracting the disease from a bat or an infected person.
If you are visiting or working in mines or caves where bats live, make sure you wear protective clothing. It is important for MVD patients to remain in isolation for 21 days to prevent further spread.
