Koffee With Karan 8 Sharmila Tagore Reveals She Was Not First Choice Of Makers For Aradhana

Sharmila Tagore gave a brilliant performance in the 1969 film Aradhana. Rajesh Khanna was seen in the lead role with her in this film. This is one of the superhit films of that time. However, now Sharmila has revealed that she was not the first choice of the makers for this film.

Sharmila Tagore fought for Aradhana
Sharmila Tagore told in Koffee with Karan that I chose Aradhana and I also fought for it. Karan was shocked to hear this and asked, ‘Your image must have been spoiled.’ In response to this, Sharmila said- No, she did not say that. He liked me very much but he thought that I was too young and I would not be able to do this role. He said- Yes, maybe we can. So there was a lot of debate on this. He was making a big film with Shami ji and he was facing problems in dates with Shami ji. So it happened very quickly.

The film ran for 50 weeks
Talking about the film, Karan Johar said what a blockbuster it was. Then Sharmila Tagore told that Aradhana had run at the box office for 50 weeks.

Talking about the work front, Sharmila Tagore was last seen in Gulmohar. It was released on Disney Plus Hotstar. Manoj Bajpayee, Simran and Suraj Sharma were also seen with him in this film.
