Kolkata Doctor Rape Murder Case: Protests are being held in the country over the rape and subsequent murder of a female trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Now the CBI will conduct a polygraph test of the accused Sanjay Roy in this case. The mother-in-law of the accused Sanjay Roy has issued a statement and made several serious allegations against him.

Accused Sanjay Roy’s mother-in-law said, “We did not have good relations with Sanjay. He used to misbehave with our daughter. He used to beat her, she had a miscarriage of her 3-month-old child… He used to work in the civic police. He was already married, this was his second marriage with my daughter. We paid for our daughter’s medicines during her last days. Sanjay was not well, hang him now or something… He could not have done this alone. He does not have the ability to do this alone… If he has done something wrong, he should be punished.”
Politics in the country is also at its peak regarding the Kolkata rape case. While the BJP is demanding the resignation of the state’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the leaders of the India Alliance are accusing the BJP of doing politics.

Hearing will be held in Supreme Court
This matter has now gone to the Supreme Court. The eyes of the country will be on the Supreme Court on Tuesday (August 20, 2024) as a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud will hear it.
