Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case: The conflict between the junior doctors protesting against the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor at RG Kar College and Hospital and CM Mamata Banerjee has increased over the meeting. Outside the CM residence, Mamata Banerjee on Saturday (September 14) appealed to the protesting doctors to attend the meeting and stop insulting her.
At the same time, the protesting doctors said that the government is not serious about talking to us. The CM had assured us that she would share the recorded video of the meeting and the signed copy of the details with them. That is why we agreed to hold the meeting without live telecast. But still she did not hold the meeting.
Dr. Aqib made a big claim
Dr. Aqib, a member of the delegation that went to meet CM Mamata Banerjee at her residence, said, “We were asked to come to Kalighat for an official meeting, we went there. When we went there, we also compromised on our demand. We said that only record the meeting and when these meetings are over, we will give the recording. The officials did not agree to this, after which the CM came out and asked us to meet for tea. But the junior doctors said that we will have tea only when we get justice.”
We will continue to demand justice
He further said, “Sandeep Ghosh has been arrested and this shows that our demand was right. What Sandeep Ghosh has done is an institutional crime. Many such principals and officials may be involved in such activities. We want all those involved to resign.” He further said, “We will continue our protest until justice is achieved. We are here for Abhaya and we will continue to demand justice for her.”
