Sneha Desai On Background Artists: The film ‘Missing Ladies’ directed by Kiran Rao has hit the screens today. This film, full of comedy, drama and suspense, is getting a lot of love from the audience. Meanwhile, while talking to ABP News, the film’s screenplay writer Sneha Desai gave her opinion about giving credit to the people working behind the scenes. According to Sneha Desai, she finds it wrong for those working behind the scenes to complain as to why people do not recognize them.
Sneha Desai said, ‘According to me, now film making has become such a corporate structure that if you have worked in it and you are bound by the contract, then your money and your credits are very clearly mentioned in it. Most producers do not interfere with your credit. I have had a very happy experience in this matter.
‘Complaining that we…’
Sneha further says, ‘As far as not being on the screen is concerned, it is obvious that the audience connects most with the people they can see. Not many people are aware of whatever process happens behind the scenes and whatever work is done, so complaining that these people do not recognize us is a bit wrong. It seems wrong because this is the difference between on the screen and off the screen.
Sneha says, ‘We are recognized through our work, through our lines. People who appear on screen are recognized by their characters and their acting. So I think there is more occupational hazard, if you are a very good writer, if you have written amazing scripts, if your films have done very well and have done business, then if not today then tomorrow your name and your work will be heard by the audience. It reaches.
Shared incident related to the set
‘Missing Ladies’ was shot in the second and third wave of Corona. In such a situation, Sneha also shared an incident during the shooting. Sneha says, “When the shooting of ‘Laapta Ladies’ was about to begin, a day before we came to know that our DOP, Director of Photography, has got Covid and we all were very tensed as to what now? will be.’
The shoot was possible because of Kiran Rao
Sneha says, ‘We started the shoot with so much difficulty. Because the team will have to be put in quarantine. It is a very upsetting feeling, but Kiran ji had done the workshops so well, had rehearsed the scenes etc. so well in advance that we were able to continue shooting even without the main DOP. He guided me and the work did not stop anywhere, so everyone was under a lot of stress at that time. But when we all look back today, we definitely remember the difficulty in which we started shooting.
