An employee collecting the samples said that earlier samples were taken only till 11 am. Most of the samples used to come from the ward in the morning, whereas OPD patients were able to come to give samples only after ten o’clock. After extending the time, most of the patients were from OPD on Monday, due to which there was a lot of crowd. Apart from this, there were also patients of Saturday. He said that after extending the sample collection time, the report would be available on the same day. This will reduce the waiting time.

Now Pathology, Microbiology and Biochemistry Lab in RML will run from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm from Monday to Friday, while the facility will be available till 4.00 pm on Saturdays. According to Dr. Neera Sharma, Additional Medical Superintendent of the hospital, patients will be able to submit samples from 8 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday and till 1 pm on Saturdays. Samples can also be taken from the ward at the same time. After the samples arrive in these labs, after examining them, the report will be received on the same day. At the same time, the investigation of the emergency department will continue as before. He has instructed all the department heads that the samples will be sent only to the hospital lab.
