On receiving information about langur terror, the forest department team reached here and caught a langur. But the villagers have accused the forest department of negligence. According to the villagers, the forest department team has come here for only 1-2 days so far and leaves after staying only for two-four hours. No concrete efforts are being made to catch the langur. We villagers are very scared due to this. Langurs are targeting people traveling alone. Suddenly a langur comes and climbs the tree, scratching its legs. Lalita Devi, a woman who was targeted by the langur, says that when she was standing outside her house, the langur came and bit her leg and ran away. Similarly, other women who were targeted by Langur also narrated their ordeal.
Forest department team should camp continuously
The villagers demand that the Forest Department team should camp here continuously and free the villagers from the terror of langur. We are troubled for the last several months. Whoever has been bitten by a langur has a swollen leg. Its poison is spreading rapidly in the body and due to this the flesh of the body starts melting. One person from the village has also died due to the bite of a langur. For treatment we have to go to Fatehpur Community Health Centre.
