Four culprits have been sentenced in the double murder case that took place 17 years ago in a fight between children over cricket in Sudeshpur village of Chandaus in Aligarh. The decision has been pronounced by the court of ADJ-6 Naval Kishore Singh. Four culprits have been punished with life imprisonment and fine. Among those punished are three real brothers and the fourth one is his nephew.

According to prosecution advocate ADGC JP Rajput, the incident occurred on March 6, 2007. According to the plaintiff, Sudeshpur resident Rashid Khan, a day before the incident, there was a fight between his children and the children of neighbor Jafrau over a dispute of playing cricket. The village people had reached a settlement in the dispute that evening through the Panchayat. Despite this, on the day of the incident, the named people attacked his house with weapons and started abusing as soon as they arrived.

When Rashid protested, he started firing. In the firing, Rashid’s son Aslam and nephew Ikram were hit by bullets while returning home from the mosque. Who died on the spot. After this the attackers fired and started going back spreading panic. Warned that if anyone came in between, he would also face the same consequences. But later, people gathered courage and caught Jafrau while he was running away and beat him with bricks and stones. Due to which he also died.

On Rashid’s complaint, the police registered a case of murder of Aslam and Ikram against Zafroo, Rahish, Shehzad, Rafiq, sons of Aziz and Zafroo’s son Arif. Jafrau’s name was omitted from the case as he was dead. Chargesheet was filed against the remaining four. During the session trial in the court, on the basis of evidence and testimony, all four accused were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. Arif has been punished with a fine of Rs 50 thousand and the other three with a fine of Rs 55-55 thousand. Orders have been given to pay the fine amount to the aggrieved party.

During this double murder, bricks and stones were thrown by the crowd in defense and during this time Jafrau, who had come as an attacker, was caught. Who died due to injury from bricks. From Zafroo’s side also, a case of murder was filed against six people including Atiq, Ashraf, Waheed, Yusuf, Pappu etc. The trial of this case also took place in this court. The court has given its verdict in that also on Friday. In the trial of Jafrau’s death, the nomination could not be proved due to the mob attack. Due to which all six accused were acquitted.

Two people were intentionally shot dead over a dispute over children playing cricket. In which six prosecution witnesses were presented. On the basis of police evidence and testimony, a case of double murder was proved and all four accused were sentenced.-JP Rajput, ADGC
