Shashwat Singh/Jhansi: In Bundelkhand, on one hand it becomes difficult to get water out of hand pumps, while on the other hand, liquor has started coming out from hand pumps here. When the team of Excise Department and police arrived to raid on the information of illegal liquor being made at Kabutra Dera of Pargana village in Month police station area of Jhansi. So the officers were surprised to see the way the liquor was hidden here. The team recovered liquor from the house to the grounds, from the fields to the hand pumps. The surprising thing was that hand pumps were installed to extract the liquor hidden underground.
When the team of Jhansi Excise Department and Month Police Station took action against illegal liquor, liquor was not seen at first. While investigating, the police found more than one hand pump in the middle of the field. When the officials started the hand pump, liquor started coming out instead of water. When excavation was done it was found that the hand pumps were just a show. Liquor drums were placed beneath them. Liquor was being exported from here.
500 liters of liquor recovered
Excise Inspector Ashok Ram said that a joint team of police and excise raided Pargana Kabutar Dera and in this action, 500 liters of illegal liquor was recovered and three thousand kilograms of Lahan was also destroyed. Two female accused engaged in this business have also been arrested.
