In which it was written that the condition of your feet gives many types of warnings about your liver health. Red and brown dots or spider veins indicate blood circulation problems which are often associated with liver problems.

Dr. Akash Chaudhary, Clinical Director and Senior Consultant Gastroenterology, Care Hospitals, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, said, ‘Cracks in the feet, certain allergies and other symptoms can sometimes indicate liver problems. But you can only know what the actual matter is when you get all the tests related to your liver done and consult a professional.

Warning if the liver is diseased

Dr. Choudhary said that cracked feet, especially severe or persistent due to dirt and weather changes, can sometimes be a sign of systemic health problems, including liver problems. The liver plays an important role in detoxification, metabolism and circulation. When the liver is not functioning properly, it leads to the formation of toxins in the body. Due to which many skin problems including dry skin and cracked skin start. 

Allergies in feet indicate liver disease

Allergies or dry skin problems on the feet may indicate liver disease.

Pruritus: Intense itching of the legs, which can sometimes be caused by acid build-up in the body due to liver problems.

Eczema or dermatitis: Chronic skin conditions that can be aggravated by liver problems, especially if the liver struggles to remove waste from the body,

Psoriasis: Although it is not directly caused by liver problems, poor liver function can worsen psoriasis.

Which symptoms in the feet should make us get the liver checked?

Persistent itching: Itching for no apparent reason, especially on the soles, can be a sign of liver problems.

Yellowing of the skin (jaundice): Although it’s most commonly seen in the eyes and overall skin, jaundice can also affect the feet.

Swelling and fluid retention: This is known as edema. It can occur in the legs and ankles due to liver problems that affect blood circulation significantly. 

Spider angiomas: Small, spider-like blood vessels that appear on the skin, including the legs, may indicate liver disease.
