BJP’s focus on South

To realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s target of 400 plus (seats) in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, BJP is also focusing on the South. In such a situation, Chandrababu Naidu coming from the South can prove to be an important ally for BJP.

Along with Lok Sabha, assembly elections are to be held in Andhra. There are total 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh. According to sources, BJP wants to contest elections on 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Chandrababu Naidu was earlier a part of NDA

Chandrababu Naidu had earlier been a part of NDA. Before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, TDP had left the NDA. When TDP separated from NDA, Chandrababu was the CM of Andhra Pradesh, but TDP broke the 20-year-old alliance with BJP over the demand for special status. However, TDP suffered a crushing defeat in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

After being in opposition for five years, TDP has now again extended its hand of friendship towards BJP. BJP also needs a strong friend to strengthen its base in South India. Since Naidu has also served as the coordinator of NDA, he can prove to be a reliable ally for BJP.

South’s challenge for BJP

South India is the biggest challenge for BJP this time and to overcome this challenge, the party is preparing to build a big wall of alliance by adding one brick at a time.
