Lok Sabha Election 2024: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday (2 March) Lok Sabha Elections The first list of 195 candidates was released. The party has now started preparing the second list of candidates. There will be a meeting of BJP core committee regarding this on Wednesday (6 March). The remaining seats of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and Bihar will be discussed in the meeting.
BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah can attend the meeting. It is believed that just as the party had sidelined the stalwarts in the first list, similarly many leaders can be sidelined in the second list too.
The list may be released on March 7-8
According to the information, in this meeting the party will finalize the names of the candidates for the second list. The party may release the second list of candidates on March 7 or 8. This list may include names of candidates from many states including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Rajasthan.
Brijbhushan Sharan Singh’s ticket may be cut
Like the first list, the party can distance itself from controversial faces in the second list too. Among these is Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was accused of sexual exploitation by female wrestlers. Maneka Gandhi and Varun Gandhi, who are reportedly angry with the party, are also expected to be removed. However, no indication has been given by BJP in this regard.
Tickets of controversial leaders canceled in the first list
Even in its first list, BJP had canceled the tickets of those MPs who were in controversies or were giving controversial statements. These include the names of leaders like Bhopal MP Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri and West Delhi MP Pravesh Verma.
