On May 19, 1995, she married Javed Akhtar, resident of Mohalla Gher Jafar Khan. After this, the race for citizenship started which ended in the year 2017. This is the first time he has voted in the general elections after 37 years. He said that I have voted for the one who will take the country on the path of progress.
Uzma’s pain also came out in the conversation. He said that after getting citizenship, this is my country now. The government should make such a scheme for the daughters-in-law coming from abroad, so that they do not have to run around. There should be provisions to give them citizenship easily. More than half of Uzma’s life was spent in this race to get her rights.
His three daughters are also married. Son Darab Akhtar is taking CA training. These four children have got Indian citizenship since birth. His name is also in the voter list here and he has also been voting. Uzma has got the opportunity to vote for the first time this year.
