Lok Sabha Election Sixth Phase Voting: The Lok Sabha election campaign is now slowly moving towards its final phase. Voting has been completed for five of the seven phases and the country will vote for the sixth phase on Saturday. During the sixth phase, voting will take place on a total of 58 parliamentary seats across the country. These constituencies are in eight states and union territories of the country.
The 58 Lok Sabha seats on which voting will be held on Saturday include 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, all 10 in Haryana, 8 each in Bihar and West Bengal, all 7 in Delhi, 6 in Odisha, 4 in Jharkhand and 1 in Jammu and Kashmir. During the announcement of the dates of the Lok Sabha elections, voting was to be held on 57 seats in the sixth phase, but voting was postponed on the Anantnag seat of Jammu and Kashmir and now voting is to be held on a total of 58 seats in the sixth phase.
The reputation of these giants is at stake
The fate of a total of 889 candidates will be decided on these 58 seats. Among the prominent candidates representing the Bharatiya Janata Party are Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from Sambalpur in Odisha, former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar from Karnal, Manoj Tiwari from North-East Delhi and Bansuri Swaraj from New Delhi.
On the other hand, prominent faces of Congress include Kumari Selja, who is contesting from Sirsa in Haryana, Deepender Singh Hooda from Rohtak in Haryana, JP Agarwal from Chandni Chowk, Delhi and Kanhaiya Kumar from North-East Delhi. Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti, who is contesting from New Delhi, is also in the headlines. After the completion of the sixth phase of voting, voting will be held on June 1 under the last phase and seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Jharkhand : Giridih, Dhanbad, Ranchi and Jamshedpur
Odisha : Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri and Bhubaneswar
Uttar Pradesh : Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Phulpur, Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Shravasti, Dumariyaganj, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Lalganj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Machhlishahr and Bhadohi
West Bengal : Tamluk, Kanthi, Ghatal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and Bishnupur
Delhi : Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North West Delhi, West Delhi and South Delhi
