Lok Sabha Election 2024 Survey How Narendra Modi Pm Candidature Change Scenario For Bjp After 2014

Lok Sabha Election Survey: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) under the leadership of BJP is in power for the second consecutive term since 2014 and is trying hard to form the government for the third time in 2024. Be it 2014 or 2019, in both the Lok Sabha elections, BJP got so many seats (more than 272) that it could single-handedly form the government, but before 2014, there was a time when leave the elections, survey the BJP. I too could not cross the figure of more than 200. Let’s analyze the same period that how one announcement changed the entire equation for BJP.

Let us first have a look at the results of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. With this it will be easy to understand the growing power of BJP. In the 2014 general elections, the NDA got 336 seats. By winning 282 seats, BJP crossed the magic figure of majority (272). This happened after three decades. Before this, in 1984, the Congress got absolute majority. After the assassination of Indira Gandhi, there was a wave of sympathy in favor of the Congress and the party won 404 seats. Since then only governments of manipulation were being formed in the country.

NDA crossed 200 for the first time
How did the party which was below 200 in the last election do this charisma? The reason for this is clearly visible in a 2014 survey. In January 2014, a survey named Mood of the Nation came out. This was the first time in the last five years (2009-2014) that the survey showed the BJP-led NDA crossing the 200 mark.

Just six months before this the same agency had conducted the survey. In this survey, the NDA was shown to get 155 seats, while the Congress-led UPA was projected to get 137 seats. The rest of the seats were given to other parties.

After all what happened in 6 months?
Between these two surveys of August 2013 and January 2023, a major development took place in the country’s politics when in September 2013, the BJP, as the largest constituent of the NDA, elected Narendra Modi, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, as its leader for the post of Prime Minister. .

After Narendra Modi became the prime ministerial face of the NDA, all the equations started forming in favor of the alliance. In the survey of C-Voter in January 2014, the seats of NDA alliance were visible beyond 200.

PM Modi’s graph increased continuously
In terms of popularity, Narendra Modi was already far ahead of his other rivals. The survey is testifying to this. In the January 2014 survey, 47 percent people supported Narendra Modi on the question of the best PM candidate. At the same time, 15 percent of Rahul Gandhi and only 9 percent of Arvind Kejriwal were considered candidates in front of him.

Six months before this, in the survey of August 2013, on the post of PM Narendra Modi 42 percent people liked it, while 20 percent people were in favor of Rahul Gandhi and 1 percent in favor of Kejriwal. In the January 2013 survey, 36 percent people were in favor of PM Modi while 22 percent supported Rahul Gandhi.

Even today PM Modi on top
The recent survey of C Voter has come in January 2023. According to the latest survey, PM Modi is still on top with the choice of 52 percent people. These figures are showing how the graph of PM Modi continued to rise continuously and it also tells that the announcement of his name benefited both BJP and NDA.
