Jairam Ramesh On Mani Shankar Aiyar Remark: There has been a political uproar over the comments of Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar. On one hand, while the Bharatiya Janata Party is attacking the Congress, on the other hand, the Congress is avoiding Mani Shankar Aiyar’s comments. In this sequence, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh even said that who is Mani Shankar Aiyar? He is just a leader of the party, neither is he an MP nor does he hold any post.
Speaking to news agency ANI, the Congress general secretary said, “Who is Mani Shankar Aiyar? He is not an official, he is a former MP and former minister. He can say whatever he wants in his personal capacity. We have nothing to do with it. The media, BJP’s troll army and social media keep running it. Today he has nothing to do with the Congress party. He is in the Congress party, but he is not even an MP, he is just a former MP.”
He also said, “Manishanker Aiyar has unconditionally apologized for his alleged attack statement and the party has nothing to do with his statement. The party dissociates itself from his original statement.”

What is the matter?
Point to be noted is that Lok Sabha Elections The last round of voting is to be held on June 1. Before this last round of voting, Mani Shankar Aiyar’s controversial statement was again made. Mani Shankar Aiyar said during a program organized in Delhi that in 1962 the Chinese had ‘allegedly’ attacked India.

He further said that however, the outgoing Prime Minister publicly gave a clean chit to the Chinese on 19 June 2020, which severely weakened our negotiating position. 2000 sq km area including Depsang and Demchok has become out of range of Indian troops.
