In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Congress is planning to contest the Bharuch parliamentary seat of Gujarat in alliance with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Late Ahmed Patel’s daughter and Congress leader Mumtaz Patel has reacted to the news of giving Bharuch parliamentary seat to AAP under the seat sharing formula. He said that people have been disappointed due to this decision.

It is noteworthy that even though veteran Congress leader Ahmed Patel is no more, his political legacy is still with the Congress. Ahmed Patel’s daughter Mumtaz Patel said on the ongoing alliance exercise before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, ‘Talks are still going on and the final decision is yet to be taken. We were hopeful that Congress would get this seat.
Brainstorming on seat sharing
Mumtaz said that the top leadership of Congress and AAP are mulling over seat sharing, but when the information about Bharuch seat being given to AAP was received, a wave of disappointment ran among the people. Congress supporters also felt sad.
