What did PM say? Modi has
In fact, in election rallies this month, PM Narendra Modi Had said that the promises made in the Congress manifesto were reminiscent of the views of the Muslim League before independence. He had said, “He will not even leave the ‘Mangalsutra’ of his mother and sisters.”
What did Mallikarjun Kharge say on PM Modi’s remarks?
Addressing a rally in Kerala’s Wayanad – the constituency of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi – on Tuesday (April 23), Kharge responded to all the allegations. He has said, “PM Modi says that the manifesto of Congress is the manifesto of Muslim League. I request him, if he gives me time, I will take my manifesto and explain it to him. Where are we saying that everything is only for Muslims? “We are working for them.”
‘MNREGA guaranteed under UPA government’
The Congress President said that our manifesto is for the poor, farmers, youth, women and everyone. He just wants to divide the society and talk about Hindu-Muslim. Referring to Congress’ promises for youth and women, Kharge said, “Youth Justice is for all. Nari Shakti is for all. It is not just for Muslims, not just for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, people below poverty line. It’s for everyone down there.”
He said that during the UPA period, we had given some rights to the people without their asking for it, for example, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee was given by Sonia Gandhi and the BJP opposed it.
He said, “He said that Congress is bringing poverty in the country by bringing MNREGA. We made MNREGA a right, education a right, food security a right. These things cannot be taken away even by PM Modi and (Union Home Minister) .”
