Mamata Banerjee attacks PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to meditate at Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari from 30 May to 1 June. After this, it seems as if Congress has started targeting him one after the other. On Wednesday, Congress submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission demanding that this program should either be cancelled or its telecast should be banned in view of the violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
After the PM’s announcement of meditation, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee reacted harshly and said that why does he have to meditate in front of the camera. He cannot campaign as a PM. A delegation of Congress leaders led by national spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi met the Election Commission officials and submitted a memorandum. After that, Singhvi said, we have told the Election Commission that when campaigning stops 48 hours before the election, campaigning in any form is not allowed.
There is no problem in keeping a silent fast- Singhvi
Abhishek Singhvi said, we have no problem with anyone observing a silent fast, but there should be no campaigning of any kind 48 hours before the elections and the period of his meditation will run from the morning of May 30 to June 1. He said that he has put forward two points before the Election Commission. First, he can do whatever he wants after June 1 and second, if he starts this meditation from Thursday, media coverage should be banned.

In this matter, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, while addressing a public meeting in Baruipur of Jadavpur constituency, targeted the PM fiercely and said, does anyone meditate in front of the camera? They want to show people that the PM is meditating. Mamata Banerjee said that Modi says that he is God… then why does he have to meditate. Mamata said that the PM cannot do this kind of publicity. This is a direct violation of the Model Code of Conduct, we will complain to the Election Commission.
