There are two Lok Sabha seats in the district. Bahraich is safe among these. Akshayvar Lal Gond of BJP is the MP from here. Five assembly constituencies namely Mahsi, Sadar, Balha, Matera and Nanpara come under the jurisdiction of this seat. Similarly, the second general seat is Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the current MP from Kaiserganj Lok Sabha constituency.

He has won from this seat in the years 2009, 2014 and 2019. This Lok Sabha constituency is made up of five assemblies of two districts, Gonda and Bahraich, which include three assemblies of Tarabganj, Katrabazar, Colonelganj of Gonda district and two assemblies of Payagpur and Kaiserganj of Bahraich.
Among the four Lok Sabha seats of Devipatan division, BJP has released tickets for Shravasti, Gonda and Bahraich, while suspense still remains on Kaiserganj. Apart from this, the equation of opposition alliance and BSP is also awaited but everyone’s eyes are fixed on Kaiserganj only. SP and BSP are also silent on BJP’s strategy.
Bahraich and Kaiserganj remained occupied by the giants
Both Bahraich and Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seats in the district have been held by veterans. Political veterans like Rafi Ahmed Kidwai, present Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, KK Nair, Shankutla Nair, Beni Prasad Verma, Rudrasen Chaudhary, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, Rana Veer have been MPs from here. Now everyone is eagerly waiting to know who will lead Kaiserganj this time.
