Mahakumbh may start from January 13 next year, but operation of long distance Mahakumbh Mela special trains run by Railways will start from January 1 itself. Railways is preparing to run 60 Mahakumbh specials between January 1 and January 11. During this period, a total of 254 long distance Mahakumbh specials will be operated in the month of January. This time a record number of special trains are to be operated during Mahakumbh.

Railways has made preparations to run a total of 13324 trains during Mahakumbh 2025. It has 10100 regular trains. Apart from this, 3134 fair special trains are also to be operated. Talking about Mela special trains, 2325 trains will be run from here on various routes, while 809 trains will reach here from different places of the country. At present, operation of long distance fair special trains is going to start from January 1.
