Voting will be held in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Darbhanga district of Bihar on May 13. But all the candidates are busy campaigning vigorously with their supporters. Election campaigning in Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency will come to an end this evening. In the final race of election campaign, BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary will hold a road show in favor of his party’s candidate Gopalji Thakur. At the same time, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav will address a public meeting in favor of RJD candidate Lalit Kumar Yadav. Everyone is claiming victory of their respective candidate. Whereas the present MP is seen trying to register victory for the second time. However, during this election campaign he had to face opposition at many places. People of the area were seen asking him for information about the work done in the last five years and showing black flags.
RJD bets on Yadav face instead of Muslim
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had fielded current MP Gopalji Thakur by canceling the ticket of former MP Kirti Azad. In this election, Gopalji Thakur won the election with a record number of votes and secured 5 lakh 86 thousand 668 votes, which was 62.11% of the total voters of this Lok Sabha constituency. At the same time, RJD candidate Abdulbari Siddiqui got only three lakh 18 thousand 689 votes which was 33.74% of the total voters.
This time RJD has changed its Muslim face and made Lalit Kumar Yadav its candidate to bridge the gap in vote percentage in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This is the reason why RJD candidates are seen giving tough competition to BJP candidates in this election. However, for this seat, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and VIP chief have campaigned by staying in Darbhanga for four days only. At the same time, the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has held a huge public meeting in favor of the BJP candidate.

It is noteworthy that there are six assembly constituencies in Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency. The total number of voters is 17,74,656. In this, the number of male voters is nine lakh 33 thousand 122 and the number of female voters is eight lakh 41 thousand 499. Whereas transgender voters are only 35. If we look at it from the caste equation, it is considered a Brahmin dominated area. Here the number of Brahmin voters is around four lakh 50 thousand, while Muslim voters are at the second place, their number is three lakh 50 thousand. At the same time, Sahni voters are in third place, its number is around two lakhs. At the same time, if we talk about SC-ST voters, their number here is around 2 lakh 50 thousand, while the number of Yadav voters is the least here, around 1 lakh 60 thousand.
In this Lok Sabha constituency, BJP is trying hard to register victory for the third consecutive time. The BJP is expressing confidence in its cadre voters in this Lok Sabha election and is placing hope on the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
