Houses of seven nearby families were damaged during the demolition of the four-storey warehouse of Samrat Furniture in Sakri Gali in Akbarnagar II, Lucknow. Due to collapse of warehouse and houses, cracks appeared in these seven houses. LDA Vice President Dr. Indramani Tripathi has assured the seven families of providing Prime Minister’s residence in Basant Kunj Yojana.

After the stone pelting and uproar stopped, Dr. Indramani Tripathi met the families whose houses had cracks. Along with his subordinates he inspected the damaged houses. Additional Secretary Gyanendra Verma said that details of all the families have been recorded. On Monday, seven families including Rubina, Firdaus, Parveen Bano, Shaheen, Shahnaz Bano will be handed over allotment letters of the Prime Minister’s residence and assistance will be provided in their displacement.

Darkness in Akbarnagar

People pelted stones at the LDA and the police team from both the first and second settlements of Akbarnagar. To save the teams stuck in the middle, electricity was cut immediately. As soon as the electricity was cut and there was complete darkness in Akbarnagar, the force was able to control the stone pelters. The electricity remained shut off for two and a half hours till around 7:45 pm. The police then stopped the movement of people coming to the road from the houses of Akbarnagar by barricading.

Three business establishments demolished, women protest

The LDA team demolished three commercial establishments on court orders on Sunday morning. Of these, two were in a narrow street and one on the main road. The uproar took place during the demolition of a commercial establishment in a narrow street. However, there was tension in the settlements on both sides of Akbarnagar since Sunday morning. Actually, Imran Raja’s family was given an ultimatum to vacate the house. Angered by this ultimatum, 200 women camped in front of Imran’s house and registered their protest. Imran is lobbying in the court to save the houses and shops of the colony. When the teams reached Imran’s house again, they returned after seeing the women.
