Made in India Smartphones: The ‘Made in India’ smartphone shipment has registered a six percent increase in the year 2024. This fast was due to the increasing export of Tech Tech Giant Apple and Samsung from India. This information was given in a report released on Thursday. According to the ‘Make in India’ service report of Counterpoint Research, Apple and Samsung’s joint stake in the country’s smartphone exports in 2024 was 94 percent.
The two brands have greatly expanded their manufacturing in India to reduce the dependence on imports and strengthen their presence in the global supply chain. The government’s PLI (production -based incentive) scheme has encouraged global manufacturers to establish or expand their production facilities in the country. As a result of all this, local manufacturing has increased.

Senior research analyst Prachair Singh said, “India presents itself as a great manufacturing destination due to favorable schemes focused on increasing its huge local market, affordable labor costs and local manufacturing.” He said that smartphone manufacturing in the country is expected to increase in double digits in 2025, as well as local value edition will also increase.
The manufacturing volume of Foxconn Hon Hon Hon Hon Honor has increased by 19 percent in 2024, which has the support of Apple. Research analyst Tanvi Sharma said, “Foxcon is planning to set up a smartphone display module assembly to increase its local manufacturing capabilities.” Tata Electronics was the fastest growing manufacturer in 2024, who recorded a 107 percent growth on an annual basis, with iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 major volume contributors.
The expansion of iPhone assembly
The company has expanded its iPhone assembly and stepped into semiconductor construction with a new plant in Dholera, Gujarat. The report states that ‘Dixon’ was the biggest manufacturer in the overall mobile handset segment (smartphone and feature phones), while the figures of the brand and Motorola of Transsian were good.
In 2024, Samsung continued to strengthen its position as an important company in the country’s electronics manufacturing and recorded an annual growth of seven percent due to an increase in exports. Vivo in second place, which was successful in increasing its shipment stake to 14 percent with an increase of 14 percent by expanding the offline retail sector and strengthening its marketing network.
