Expansion
There will be special security arrangements for the devotees coming to Kashi during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj during the Ganga bath. In view of this, the Commissionerate’s water police will soon have its own floating divider. In this sequence, 3000 meter long water barricading and 3000 meter long safety net will be purchased.

Till now, floating dividers were ordered from Prayagraj to create lanes in the Ganga during big events like Dev Diwali in Kashi. During the Mahakumbh of Prayagraj, the administration estimates that around 10 crore devotees will come to Kashi. Apart from this, on occasions like Makar Sankranti, Mahashivratri, Chhath, Purnima-Amavasya, solar-lunar eclipse, lakhs of devotees gather in Kashi to take a bath in the Ganga.
In view of this, it has been decided at the government level to purchase floating divider on a permanent basis for the water police of the Commissionerate. In this sequence, an amount of Rs 3 crore 63 lakh 75 thousand has been approved from the government level.
