Mahadev Betting App Case: After the name of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel came up in the Mahadev Betting App case, Enforcement Directorate lawyer Saurabh Pandey said that as soon as evidence is found during the investigation, summons will be issued to him. He said that if evidence is found during the investigation, summons can be issued to anyone including the former Chief Minister.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has named Baghel in a supplementary chargesheet filed on January 1, 2024. This charge sheet pertains to the allegation of taking bribe of approximately Rs 508 crore from the promoters of Mahadev App.

Saurabh Pandey told news agency ANI, “In our first Supplementary Prosecution Complaint, we had written about Shubham Soni that he had sent us an email, it was a certified email. In this email, Soni had mentioned about the former Chief Minister. Wrote about.

The accused retracted their statement
ED’s lawyer said that five people were named in the first supplementary complaint. The accused include Aseem Das, Bhim Singh Yadav, Anil Kumar Aggarwal, Rohit Gulati and Shubham Soni. Pandey told that accused Aseem Das had said that he had given Rs 5 crore 39 lakh to the CM. They had made his statement a part of their complaint. Apart from this, statements of two other accused were also included in the complaint. However, later all three accused retracted their statements.

Called the letters fake
The lawyer said that in a letter on behalf of accused Chandra Bhushan Verma and Satish Chandrakar, it was said that all the statements given to the ED authority under Section 50 of Money Laundering were false, but when the ED officer sought permission from the court, When I went to meet him in jail after this, he denied this and said that the letters written were fake and it was not his handwriting.

Saurabh Pandey said, “It is important for us to show the court what statements we have recorded. We had presented our statement before the special court and also expressed our views there.”
