A case of fraud has come to light in the Bhasma Aarti, which is performed every morning in the world famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. A devotee from Delhi gave a fake receipt in the name of Bhasmarti Darshan and was charged Rs 4,500. Devotees had given a complaint of cheating in Shri Mahakaleshwar temple. After this, the Shri Mahakaleshwar Management Committee has registered a case of cheating against two people under Section 420, 34 in Police Station Mahakal.
New Delhi residents Nitin Bhardwaj, Mohit Arora and Dishant Gara had given a written complaint to the temple office. They had reached Ujjain to worship Kalsarp Dosh. He was told by Pawan Kumar that he can get permission for Bhasmarti from a person named Mrityunjay. On this, Mrityunjay took Rs 4500 from Nitin, Mohit and Nishant and gave permission to three devotees. During the investigation in Aarti entrance, that permission was found to be fake and editing the permission of another devotee. After this, the Mahakaleshwar Management Committee has registered a case against Pawan Kumar and Mrityunjay Kumar in the police station Mahakal.
Fake receipt caught from QR code
Sandeep Soni, the administrator of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, told that continuous improvements are being made in the darshan arrangements of the temple. This is the reason why QR code is also being put on the receipt of Bhasmarti. The QR code of three receipts of Bhasmarti could not be scanned on Sunday morning. First we looked at the QR code scanner machine to see if there is anything wrong with it. After that we matched the registration number mentioned on the receipt, then all these three Bhasmarti’s permission turned out to be fake. In this case, on the report of Premnarayan father Ramsevak Udeniya, age-68 years, resident of Vivekananda Colony, on behalf of Shri Mahakaleshwar Management Committee, the police have registered a case against Pawan Kumar and Mrityunjay Kumar under section 420, 34. The police have also been informed about the transaction done on Google Pay, in which these devotees had deposited Rs 4500 for the permission of Bhasmarti.

Office Superintendent of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee, Premnarayan Udeniya said that on April 16, 2023, devotees Nitin Bhardwaj, Mohit Arora and Dishant Gara had come to attend the Bhasmarti of Mahakal. He told in the complaint that the three devotees had come to Ujjain to worship Kalsarp. A person named Pawan Kumar Mohd. 6260738516 had given Mrityunjay Kumar’s mobile numbers 9334222621, 6261865996 for issuing permission for Bhasmarti. After discussion Mrityunjay Kumar got permission for cremation of all the three devotees by taking 4500 rupees. When the three devotees reached the temple after taking the permission of Bhasmarti, during the investigation, the said permission was copied from the permission issued to another devotee and was given in the names of the devotees.
